The Raspberry Pi Camera Module V2 NoIR features the same Sony IMX219 8-megapixel sensor as the standard Camera Module 2. It replaced the original PiNoIR Camera Module, which used a 5-megapixel OmniVision OV5647 sensor. The key difference with the NoIR variant is that it lacks an infrared filter, allowing it to capture images in the dark with infrared lighting.
Features
- Sony IMX219 8-megapixel sensor with Exmor R back-illuminated architecture
- No infrared filter (NoIR), ideal for low-light and night-vision applications
- Supports video modes:
- 1080p at 30fps
- 720p at 60fps
- VGA at 90fps
- Includes a blue gel filter for monitoring plant health
